What payment options are available?

Whale only accepts the payment methods listed below. Specific instructions are provided when you select a payment method when logged into Whale.

ACH Bank Transfer (via Plaid)

Cost: Free     Speed: 2-4 Business Days

You can link your bank account using Plaid to transfer funds directly from your existing bank to Whale.

When possible, before initiating the transfer, Whale will check your account balance to ensure you have sufficient funds to cover the deposit. However, you must keep enough funds available in your account until the transfer completes to avoid the transfer being returned and incurring a $25 fee.

Zelle

Cost: Free      Speed: Same Day

Use Zelle to send a deposit payment to Whale. You can check if their bank supports Zelle transfers here.

MoneyGram

Cost: Free*      Speed: Same Day

MoneyGram is a great option if you want to pay your deposit with cash. You can send a MoneyGram to Whale by visiting a MoneyGram location or using their website.

Wire Transfer

Cost: Free*     Speed: 1-5 business days

Whale accepts both domestic and international wire transfers.

Although Whale does not charge a fee to receive wire transfers, it’s possible the renter’s bank charges a fee to send the funds or a currency exchange fee if they are not sending USD.

Venmo

Cost: 2.25% of transfer amount     Speed: Same Day

You can use your Venmo account to send funds to Whale. Follow the instructions provided to send your security deposit + 2.25% to Whale to complete your deposit requirement.

The fees charged by Whale cover our costs to accept funds as a business on Venmo.


*Although Whale does not charge a fee, your are responsible for any service fees charged by the service provider to send funds.
